General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the

contract for the water-works at Macao, which formed the

subject of your semi-official letter of May 20th last

(F 3210/G), was signed on July 15th last with the

British syndicate, of which Messrs. Malcolm of Shanghai

form part.
